چکیده

Background An important question in the valuation of children’s health is whether preferences younger individuals should be captured within value sets for measures that are aimed at them. This depends on can complete exercises and their differ from those adults. study compared adults adolescents EQ-5D-Y-3L states using latent scale values elicited a discrete choice experiment (DCE). Methods online DCE survey, comprising 15 pairwise choices, was provided to samples UK (aged 11–17 y). Adults considered 10-year-old child, whereas own health. Mixed logit models were estimated, comparisons made relative attribute importance (RAI) scores pooled model. Results In total, 1000 1005 completed survey. For both samples, level 3 pain/discomfort most important, 2 self-care least based magnitudes coefficients. The RAI (normalized self-care) indicated gave less weight usual activities (1.18 v. 1.51; P < 0.05), (1.77 3.12; 0.01), anxiety/depression (1.64 vs. 2.65; 0.01). model evidence differences between two levels anxiety/depression. Study protocol for valuing EQ-5D-3L and EORTC-8D health states in a representative population sample in Sri Lanka

BACKGROUND Economic evaluations to inform decisions about allocation of health resources are scarce in Low and Middle Income Countries, including in Sri Lanka. This is in part due to a lack of country-specific utility weights, which are necessary to derive appropriate Quality Adjusted Life Years. The EQ-5D-3 L, a generic multi-attribute instrument (MAUI), is most widely used to measure and valu...

Interim scoring for the EQ-5D-5L: mapping the EQ-5D-5L to EQ-5D-3L value sets.

BACKGROUND A five-level version of the EuroQol five-dimensional (EQ-5D) descriptive system (EQ-5D-5L) has been developed, but value sets based on preferences directly elicited from representative general population samples are not yet available. The objective of this study was to develop values sets for the EQ-5D-5L by means of a mapping ("crosswalk") approach to the currently available three-l...

The aim of the current study was to compare performance of this value set against the UK VAS-based value set.   Methods The mean scores for all possible 243 health states were compared using Student t test. Absolute agreement and consistency were investigated using concordance co...
